Well here we are, my first blog post. So weird even working up to the unreality of talking About me. Click the link for the ususal blurb, the short version.

Stick around if you’re bored, or interested, or just stuck here because your grip on technology is as good as mine. However you landed here, welcome.

So, My Why for doing this? As an introvert by nature and a procrastinator of the highest order, (no joke, I could win an MBE for my dedication). I have a few different reasons.

  1. To see if I could – This is not my comfort zone, in fact it is my very uncomfortable zone. I am a Nurse, and documentation is really as far as my writing has ever gone since school 30 years ago.
  2. To be held accountable – Holding this in a public space, even if no-one ever reads it! I know that it’s out there and have set intentions to follow.
  3. To make me learn something new – (did i mention uncomfortable, yes), not only do I not know what to do in this space, I don’t know HOW to do it. I have read other blogs and have no idea how to make this smooth, to navigate and edit.
  4. To create Focus – If you’ve read the About me page, you’ll have seen that I am no longer able to work as a nurse. Chronic illnesses that have significant limitations on energy, with changes to my physical and mental wellbeing, has come with grief for my former self. The focus of pointing myself in a new direction is part of my journey of acceptance.
  5. To create enjoyment and engagement – it is so easy to answer what I miss most about my job and working. The chat, the tea room banter, the chat with patients and their families. Hearing the life stories of others has always filled my cup.

Hopefully, this blogging thing can develop in to something that can provide all these things in one way or another. Looking forward to that cup filing back up.

Hi Jess, I’m so sorry to hear you’ve not been well. Your new page is right up my street, I taught myself to crochet by following Bella coco’s videos as well. Take care, Yvonne D xx

Aw, thanks so much Yvonne. It’s been a rough year, but getting a bit better gradually.
Will definitely need to keep this up now that I know at least one person has seen it. Thanks so much for commenting, Jess xx
